04G Barcelona Blue - State Cup Champions!

[8 February, 2017]  The MVLA 04G Barcelona Blue team, coached by Erin Montoya,  put an exclamation point on their stellar season by winning the NorCal State Cup Championship.  Winning the top division and beating the best of the best, the team dominated throughout the competition, which began in early December and ended this past weekend in Modesto. Barcelona Blue won all of their games, scored 29 goals in all and had only 2 against.  After dribbling through rounds 1  (7-0, 5-0) and 2 (6-1), the girls moved to the Quarterfinals where they beat San Juan Spirits 4-0, then to the Semi-finals beating Santa Rosa United 4-1 and sealing the deal with a 3-0 win in the Finals against a strong DeAnza Force 04G Pre-ECNL team.

In 2016 the team also won the Surf Cup, Mustang Stampede and Mustang  Winter Turf Tournaments.  They are currently ranked #1 in the Nation.
